Kristin Parnell, Founder and Owner
At an early age, Kristin delighted in the opportunity to plan events such as birthday parties and graduation celebrations. At these events, in addition to managing details such as food selections, decor and theme, you could count on Kristin to refill your glass, make sure you have enough to eat, and help you shake your groove thing on the dance floor.
In her professional career, she worked as a Manager for various retail and Holiday Quantity Discount stores at See’s Candies for over ten years. At See’s, she received various awards and distinctions for high sales, outstanding customer service and efficiency of store operations. She also was recognized with a feature in the company publication, The See Breeze, and hosted the cast and crew of The Ellen Degeneres Show. After See’s, she continued in retail serving as a Store Manager for Fresh & Easy. Assisting with its entry into the United States market, Kristin helped manage the opening of five stores and managed a South Los Angeles location.
Desiring a transition from retail after 13 years, Kristin reflected on her life and work. She noticed how many parties, events and gatherings she’d coordinated over the years and her love for bringing people together and serving the community. She realized something: she was an event planner! Festive Flair Events was sparked in 2009. Applying exceptional customer service, logistics, planning and management skills, Kristin endeavors to ‘create memorable and heartfelt occasions’ for individuals, small businesses and community organizations. Of her work and bringing people together to commemorate the milestones in their lives, she says enthusiastically “I do it because I love it!”
Kristin holds a Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She is also a certified Food Handler and Customer Service Trainer, and member of the professional groups, Networking Our Way (NOW) and Black Women’s Network. With her passion for serving the community, she volunteers for the youth-focused non-profit, Message Media Ed, and health services organization, Village Health Foundation.
